This book really is awesome. Sure it doesn't list every campground out there, but the book is already the size of a major city's phone book, so it lists the best ones. I love the rating system because it gives each campground separate 1-5 star ratings whether camping with a tent or in an RV. Extraordinary detail and excellent tips, but so far I haven't seen any altitudes given, which would have been useful.
Your Home On Wheels, a Beginners Guide to Part Time or Full Time RVing
My husband and I came across this book by accident, and as brand new RV'ers it has become our bible! Out of all the "helpful" books and magazines, and personal experiences, this book has covered all we needed to know and then some; right up to the decision to sell our home, what type of RV to buy, which pickup to purchase and what to take along, as well as where to go, how to set up and how to break camp. We have found every piece of advice to be accurate, and would recommend that every RV'er have a copy of this, whether they are just beginning or are long time travelers.
The RVer's Bible
We have been RVers for many years, but still learned some very valuable information from this entertaining and informative book. It is slightly more swayed toward motorhomes, than fifth wheels and travel trailers. The chapter on safe weights and loading was worth the price of the book alone. It is not old and dated, having information on computers, etc. I would love to have a book by the authors that was just for travel trailers and one for fifth wheels. There are contact addresses for many helpful resourses.

Guide to Mexican Camping
This book is the complete reference for RVers. I used the suggested itineraries for planning my vacation; these show daily driving distances, estimated driving times, and descriptions of the routes and sites along the way, which I found to be very accurate. Over 60 pages of detailed information cover everything from safety, insurance, fuel, food and money to health issues and pets. The information on crossing the border was very helpful in preparing me for this sometimes confusing process and the detailed descriptions of each crossing point, including hours of operation and suitability of RV access, enabled me to select good places to enter Mexico.

I have actually purchased this book twice now, once about 10 years ago and it was the best book then! then I lost the book in the Cedar fire in 2003. Now we are ready to go camping again, so what book did I look for? That's right, the Complete Guide but realized it had been burned like all the others. So I quickly purchased it again, and upon its receipt and review am amazed at all the new campsites he has added and all the fantastic information! The one thing I miss-all my notes I had made in the other book! Oh well, time to start the new one!

This book is an excellent reference. The author covers many topics in this book: The basics of rving, with information on waste systems, outfitting the rig, towing, setting up camp, leaving camp; improving fuel economy and performance; troubleshooting rv engines; rv electronic systems; weight, handling, and safety; tire care; selecting a tow vehicle; towing safety, and much, much more. The level of detail in this book was not covered in any of the other books we read.
